Deviating from tradition, the Vortex is Stalker Stickbows’ first belly-mounted bow model. Designed with the limbs positioned behind the throat of the grip, the Vortex has a deflex riser, which places a higher concentration of pressure directly in the shooter’s hand – significantly reducing interference from torque. Along with on average being our heaviest and therefore most stable Stalker riser, the deflex design makes the Vortex our most forgiving model to shoot.

While belly-mounted bows typically suffer a sacrifice in performance due to their shortened power-strokes, the Vortex was designed with a lower than usual brace height, to compensate for the abbreviated distance of energy transfer to the arrow. Another hybrid model, the Vortex is offered with both longbow and static recurve limbs, the latter of which match the velocity of our back-mounted Wolverine recurve, as the fastest shot in the Stalker catalog.

As with all of our bows, consideration of equal parts performance and appearance went into the creation of this model. Along with the unique appearance of the riser, with limb-pockets sculpted into each end, the Vortex is also our only model that allows accent stripes to run harmoniously from the riser into the limb-butts.

Designing a bow to deliver more consistent performance, and still share the title of our fastest model, also earned the Vortex the notorious reputation inside the shop as the model that spent the most time in the R&D phase. The months of trial and error paid off handsomely, however, and the final result is our best all-around performing model – a no-brainer for anyone who wants to improve their odds with a stick-bow.
